Maureen Spit

Vice President, Research Laigo Bio

Experienced ubiquitin researcher with extensive understanding of ubiquitin biology in the context of oncogenic signaling. Maureen was awarded several grants, including a prestigious KWF (Dutch Cancer Society) personal fellowship for her research at the University College London Cancer Institute (UK) and Leiden University Medical Center (NL) where she focused on ubiquitination in colorectal and ovarian cancer. She obtained her PhD in molecular cell biology at the University Utrecht (NL) in the lab of Madelon Maurice, where she discovered the role of transmembrane E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF43 in stem cells and revealed its molecular mechanism of action. This finding laid the foundation for the development of SureTAC technology.
